Kansas City...

The kid's and I packed up and headed to Kansas City this weekend. Other than missing daddy we all had lots of fun. You forget how great it is to see the looks on their faces when they get to do something they really want to. We had a great time swimming, staying in a hotel, visiting the American Girl Store, Getting supplies for Aubrey's birthday party, and riding the rides in the mall. All in all the trip was a success and they can not wait to head to Kansas City again!
Here Aubrey is eating her pizza.

Getting ready to head to the pool!

Colten listening to the "plan". He is adorable, and always wants to know what the plan is before we do things. He likes to know what is next.

Aubrey having a GREAT time in the American Girl Store. She picked out lots of things that would be perfect (in her words) for her birthday.

Playing in the mall.

Waiting in line for the carousal.

This one makes me laugh.

Aubrey loved it!

She wanted to take a picture of me...silly girl!

Colten liked it too!

Good Bill of Health...

Colten had a follow up appointment with his ENT doctor yesterday and I am happy to report that everything looked great. I absolutely LOVE his doctor, he is so good with Colten, and can really relate to us as he had a preemie of his own. Its great to see the progress Colten has made since his surgery last July. We have had a lot less trips to our regular doctor, and he sleep through the night now that his snoring doesn't wake him up. We are so blessed that our pediatrician is not afraid to refer us on so that our children can have the best care possible.

Wildcat Victory...

Justin and I were fortunate enough to witness the Wildcat Victory last night and it was great! The Cat's played KU on Big Monday and defeated the #1 team in the country by 16 points. We had a lot of fun, especially Justin who ventured over to Lawrence a couple of weeks ago to watch the Cat's get killed by the Hawks, so he really enjoyed the tables being turned. The kids stayed home, and I am really glad they did. They would not have enjoyed the noise in Bramelege last night. What a great day to be a Wildcat. It is always nice to beat your Rivals!

Jamar coming off the court (I was really trying to get a good one of Jake but that didn't happen).

Martin still not happy...to funny!

The students were pretty excited!

When they knew they had it won!

Good for them! Go Cat's!

Justin and I glad the cat's won!

Rushed the Court!

Justin and I again!

What a great night!

Happy Valentine's Day...

Happy Valentine's Day!

The kid's received their Valentine's last night and had a lot of fun searching the house for them. I love that they are at the age where they are SO excited about every little Holiday. It makes life so much fun to see the excitement on their faces. We got home last night and decided to let them do their Valentine's hunt. They were thrilled as they had no idea that it was going to happen (there is a basketball game tonight (Go Cat's), and we are having dinner with some family before), but it was perfect timing.
We decided to let them hunt for their gifts this year. I hate buying paper, bags, and gift wrap items to use once a year and then store so we figured if they could search the house high and low it would be fun for them.
The search started in the kitchen. Who says that bribery isn't a good thing? It's the only way I can get them to pose for a picture!

They decided to check in the oven...

It wasn't in there so they ventured to the next room...

Aubrey's room was next on the list...

Then we checked under Colten's bed...

Finally we found them in the bathtub!

Colten looks less than thrilled but he really was excited!

Hope everyone else has a great Valentine's day!

Family Picture Outtakes...

Everyone has been telling me how great our family photos are. I have tried to convince people that they are not all wonderful and no one seems to believe me! I agree my kids are pretty perfect but they still have their moments.....

See I told you we don't always take perfect pictures!

A Heavy Heart...

A Heavy Heart. I always debate if I should post stuff like this or not, and have decided that it is my blog and if people don't want to read about it that's fine they can stop reading the blog. I want to remember ten years from now how we felt in regards to our sweet baby boy and this is the best and easiest way for me to keep a journal of everything happening in our crazy lives. Lately we have all been missing Jeret like crazy. It is funny how it comes and goes. Some days are easy and while we still think of him we are not overwhelmed with sadness. We can function and make it through the day. Lately that has not been the case. Lately it has been REALLY hard. I don't know if it is because the older Colten gets the farther away we seem from Jeret or if it is just a part of life that we will never overcome. I can't stop thinking about this sweet boy.

I wonder what could of been. What his personality would be? Who he would be today?
I know that this is a part of life but today it doesn't seem like a very fair part of life. I'm missing my baby boy.

Lazy Sunday Morning...

What's better than a lazy morning? These two slept until 9, and then wanted to lay around and watch cartoons. What a great start to the day!

Future Bat Boy...

Well you are looking at pictures of the future bat boy for Kansas State Baseball. We got his uniform last night and he is VERY cute in it. We are so excited for him and it makes the start of the season a little more tolerable! I am happy that he will be able to do something that he loves. I do have my doubts on if he will really do it when the time comes, but I guess time will tell. I'm sure he will hold his attention for a couple innings every game but have my doubts on if he will be able to handle it for the entire game. I'm glad he will finally be able to put his love for the wildcat's to good use!

Bath Time...

Yes, I realize that my children are going to hate me for this someday, but I don't really care! Colten recently has decided that he HATES (the word hate is an understatement) taking a bath. It is the only time he throws fits, and let me tell you they are brutal. So I had to share a rare happy moment of him in the tub.

Wordless Wednesday (On Thursday)...
