Giving Back...

Justin and I feel as though it is very important for our kids to realize how good they have it. They have been blessed with a wonderful life and we hope and pray they realize that other's do not have it as good as them. With that being said I think it is important for them to be able to give back as much as they possibly can. Last week they had the opportunity to do just that at my mom's church. They were packing baskets for Haiti and the kids went up to help for a couple of hours.  It was a wonderful expericne for them and I think they actually got the concept that they were doing it for people who did not have food.  When I asked Aubrey why she did it she told me that there were people that did not food, and then asked me if I knew that.  What a sweet girl.
Aubrey worked the hardest of the two while there.  She has such a caring personality and she really shined while doing this.  She helped the entire time and worked SO hard.  So proud of that little lady.
Here she is measuring rice.
And then pouring it.
Colten did a great job too.  He just was not as serious as she is.
I hope to find MANY more opportunities for them to give back in the days and the weeks ahead.

Look Who's Turning 1...

Soccer...

Colten started soccer again a couple of weeks ago. He is really loving the games - practice not so much - but the games make it worth it. He is playing for a Soccer Academy here in town and I am so happy we went this route instead of with the city. He lost his first game last week so we have tried to convince him that you can not win them all however for him losing is not okay. He went hard at his game and never gave up so naturally that is all Justin and I care about.
Here he is before his first game.  He looks so mature here!
Still warming up.  He had to switch teams right before the game as another team did not have enough players.
For some strange reason he LOVES to be the goalie.
Some action shots!
Great job buddy!  We can not wait to cheer you on again Thursday!

11 Months...

Claire turned eleven months old last week! Let me just say (as I do every month) that I do not know how this is possible. I am living in the world where she should be like three months still! At eleven months she is a lot of fun. She is clapping, waving hi, and bye, blowing kisses, showing us she is "so big", barking like a puppy, crawling, and pulling herself up to the standing position...tear. Her personality continues to please us. She loves to play with her brother and sister, and is not quite ready to give up the quality time that she spends with her mama in the middle of the night. I can not even begin to say how blessed we are to have her. She definitely is the missing piece to our puzzle. Let the party planning begin our baby is turning one!

Our little Miss started dance class again last week! She loved it and it makes us happy to see her doing what she loves!

Weekend Recap...

Well looks as though the Tadtman's are not very exciting in the fall! My last post was a weekend recap as well and I just think that it proves we are WAY to busy to do anything fun. Between activities for the kids, and work this family is exhausted at the end of the day!
Basically this past weekend was very similar to the weekend before.
We went to the football game on Saturday night but that really about as exciting as we got other than mass on Sunday!
Little Miss is getting some new teeth, and let me tell you she was a grump!  I guess I would be too if I couldn't have anything to numb the pain.  She snuggled with her mama lots!
Yesterday was spent lounging around the house watching football which is nice!  Sunday's in the fall are completely lazy...I try and blame it on Justin wanting to watch football all day but really I am no better.  I try to avoid leaving the house at all costs!
Little miss Aubrey after her bath last night wanted her picture taken.  I love that she has so much natural beauty...I hope she thinks she does during her teenage years!
Of course then she wanted her mommy in a picture with her.
Look at my sweet little girls!  They are the best!
Sorry dad...you didn't make it in any photos this weekend.

Weekend Recap...

We had another fun weekend. Saturday was a BUSY day but we enjoyed every minute of it. Saturday started with the game! Colten had a WONDERFUL time and brought his best friend John Michael. They have so much fun together. They were excellent at the game and both of them were sad when it was over! I'm sure that this was the first of many games he begs to bring a friend to! After the game the attended their Cousin's birthday party at city park. It was WAY to cold for the splash park but that did not stop them...needless to say both kids were ready for bed Saturday night! Claire had a double ear infection and is cutting a couple teeth so she did not play to much. Poor baby. Sunday was spent on the couch watching football. I LOVE Sunday's in the fall!

First Sleepover...

Claire had her first sleepover Labor Day weekend. She stayed with Grandma so Justin and I could go to my ten year high school reunion. Let me tell you it was hard leaving her all night! I think mainly because she is my last baby and if she can stay the night without me she is WAY to grown up! Here she is with Grandma before bed!
She decided she needed to go through everything that we packed her...I guess she needed to be sure I didn't forget anything!
The next day while at the mall she also had her first carousal ride....I think it was a success!
And just because she is cute...Mya went on her first ride in her barbie jeep!

Basketball, and Oreo's...

After what seems like a hundred years our new basketball goal is finally in place! Colten absolutely LOVES it and now can not stand to be inside during the evening. We would not have it any other way and are so glad that after the headache it caused (do not EVER buy a basketball goal from Dick's) he is happy with it.
He has enjoyed playing PIG with mom, and one on one with dad. He really is not half bad at either! He drew the sweetest picture yesterday at school of him and Justin playing one on one and told the teacher it was his favorite activity to do at home...naturally this makes me so happy!
Here he is playing around the first night!
Aubrey was the cheerleader, and no she did not stand on that ladder long!
Claire decied that basketball was over - rated and that she would rather eat cookies!  She did stop eating cookies long enough to clap for her brother when Aubrey cheered because he made a basket!
Here's to many more fun moments at the Tadtman household.  We are so blessed!
