Tulsa...

This past weekend we made a quick trip to Tulsa to see our good friends the Hardy's. We knew it would be quick, but at the same time it was the only weekend we had completely free before the baby so it was now or never. We went down Friday night and the kids had so much fun playing with their little girls. I love how kids just pick up right where they left off. It's so sweet.
The kids decided that they all wanted to sleep in Gabby's room (this lasted about two seconds)!

Saturday morning Gabby had a t-ball game so we decided to go and cheer her on. Her team didn't end up having enough players so Colten got to play too (which to say he loved would be a complete understatement)! Unfortunately no one brought their camera so cell phone picture are all we had. He is a goof and if you ask him about the game now he will tell you that he scored two runs, on two hits. Can you say obsessed? Seriously the kid is obsessed with sports. He even wants to know the facts, and is starting to ask Justin to turn the cartoons off and turn on the baseball game!

We swam Saturday afternoon and then headed to Gabby, and Adrianna's favorite pizza place for dinner. The kids had so much fun and Colten had a complete melt down when it was time to leave!

Thanks again Hardy family, we can not wait to get together again!

MVP...Again!

This past week Colten attended British soccer camp every day. Needless to say he LOVED it.
He has such passion for sports, and loves to take part in them. I have a feeling that he is going to keep us VERY busy in the years to come. I want the kids to have their own interests and things they enjoy doing on their own to help them figure out who they are as a person. This has always been important to me. I by no means want to force them to participate in a sport or activity they do not enjoy so as long as they enjoy it we will continue to take them. We feel very fortunate that Colten is such a sports nut (he takes after his dad). If it involves running, a ball, a bat, or a glove the kid is in!
So this past week he had soccer camp. He LOVED every second of it. Once again he was as serious as he could possibly be! He was named MVP two different days (this time by his coaches not his parents)! We could not be more proud of him. It was adorable he was MVP the first day of camp, and the second day he wanted to know why he wasn't MVP again. We explained to him how you became MVP, and he looked at us and said he would have to work harder the next day to be MVP again. We told him that even if he worked really hard he had already been MVP on the first day so he probably wouldn't get it again, and that the other kids needed a chance at it. He was okay with that. Then on Friday (the last day) they picked him as MVP again. He told me that night that he is just that good! That the other kids didn't come close! I guess it is a good thing to have confidence at this age!
Warming up the last day of camp!

Here are some action shots from camp!

Colten was on team China so naturally he had to make a flag to bring to camp the last day!

Time to get his ball signed!

So proud of my little man. He makes me SO happy!

Poolside...

This summer we have spent a LOT of time poolside. The kids are finally big enough to want to swim on their own and they have excelled in their swimming skills. I love watching their confidence grow each time we take a trip to the pool. We have them both in private lessons two times a week and I think that the one on one attention is exactly what they need at this age. I'm not going to lie I am going to be one sad person when it gets cold again and we can't go to the pool all the time!
So sweet!

How can you say no to that face?

Aren't they the best?

He LOVES the pool!

Cannon Ball!

They have a lot of fun together, and get in a lot of trouble together!

I love her!

Happy Birthday Great Grandpa Dick...

Well last weekend Justin's Step-Grandpa celebrate a birthday. Of course our family will take any chance they have to eat cake so we headed up to celebrate with his grandma, and grandpa. We had a lot of fun and the kids were great entertainment for Nana, and Dick.
Miss Addison was there too!

Colten got a chance to hold Carter!

Aubrey held him as well! Have I mentioned I think she is going to make a GREAT big sister?

Attempting to get a good picture of the kids with Nana, and Dick.

What a silly boy!

3 Surgeries in 4 Years...

Well it is official Colten is scheduled for his 3rd surgery in 4 years. It breaks my heart to watch him go through everything he has been through. I know he got the short end of the stick when he was born eight weeks early, I also knew the odds were against him and in reality we have it a LOT better than a lot of people out there...at least we have him! It just breaks my heart to watch him hurt and have him look at me with those big eyes and wonder why we are putting him through it all. I also know it is much better to get it all over with and then moving forward he won't have anything holding him back! The thing that bothers me so much about this one is the fact that it could have been prevented. When he was about 4 months old he had a couple of hernia's repaired, well the scar tissue prevented one of his testicles from dropping all the way hence the surgery to go in and repair it. His is more complicated because the surgeon can not cut where he wants to. Since he has already been cut on both sides for the hernia repair, the surgeon has to go in trough the sac and get it that way...Poor little guy. I know he will pull through and be strong but this mama is worried about him (I know it's natural)! Like I said I wish he wouldn't have to go through any of it, however he does so I guess we will count our blessings and get ready for August 9th! It will be here before we know it!
