Blogging

I want to start by apologizing for being such a horrible blogger. I always say that I am going to do it and keep up and then time and time again break my vow. Our lives have been so busy lately and blogging is the one thing that I fail miserably at keeping up with. I just thought that I would give everyone a quick update on what the Tadtman family has been up to for the past month or so.

May came and went with a blink of an eye. We started May off with a trip to Stillwater Ok to see the cats play. We didn't not decide to go until the VERY last minute but needless to say it was a lot of fun. The trip was a lot of fun however we did not get to see a single inning of baseball be played. They played two games on Friday (due to the forecast), and then on Saturday the field was not in good condition to play. It was still a lot of fun to go and spend time with Justin. We didn't do a lot other than enjoy each other.

The following week we had two mid week games against BYU and a home series. We went to all of the games...Imagine that. They were a lot of fun except for the fact that we did not play very well. It is always nice however to hang out with the baseball staff. We have lots of fun together and have grown to be very close this season.

The third weekend in May was Justin's birthday. I bet you will never guess where we celebrated...that's right the ball field! Imagine that. Needless to say it was exciting. He got lots of good gifts and we enjoyed a Wildcat Victory. On Saturday we went to Lawrence and enjoyed the ball game as well as seeing Aubrey's Godparents David and Samantha Hardy and their daughter Gabby. The kids had a lot of fun seeing Gabby and playing with her.

The following week the kids and I and the other wives took a fun trip down to Oklahoma City to watch the Big 12 tournament. We really had a lot of fun. We left Tuesday and came back Saturday so it was a short trip but while we were there we enjoyed several baseball games, a trip to the zoo, and several trips to feed the ducks. Grandpa Jim, Aunt Sara, and Uncle Dan even made it down on Friday night to hang out. With them we enjoyed a trip to the Bass Pro Shop, and a carriage ride through Bricktown. Colten loved both, and Aubrey slept through both.

Memorial day we took a trip out to the cemetery to visit Jeret. We miss him everyday but find peace in knowing hes in a better place and he has his Great Grandma with him in Heaven.

Last weekend I flew down to Huston for the Regional tournament. It was my first time to leave the kids but Justin and I really enjoyed spending some time together. You forget how easy it is to just get up and go somewhere without having to get two little ones ready. Needless to say in the end the Cats came up a little short. We are still so proud of them and all they accomplished this season.

Now that baseball is over I have no idea what we are going to do with all of our free time. It will however be nice to spend some time at home with the family. Justin has not had a weekend off since Feb. so it will be nice to have him home again.

And now a quick update on the kids:

Colten loves baseball and Justin and I really enjoy watching him at the games. He surprises us every game. We were sitting there at several different points in the season and he would randomly yell things and cheer for his wildcats. Its funny how at two years old he has his favorite players and an opinion on what they should do (ie. hit a home run, catch the ball, strike out the batter). He is also obsessed with wearing hats and has figured out when the hat is on backwards he is the catcher and when it is forward he is either the batter or the pitcher. He has even developed a pitching stance. He is a lot of fun and we enjoy watching him grow and mature.

Aubrey just started walking this past week. She is very proud of her self. She has no problem keeping up with her big brother and I am excited to watch them grow together. She is very into doing her own thing with out my help. It makes me sad to thing that what very well could be my last baby is no longer a baby. She brings so much joy to our lives. She had her 15 month check this week and is in the 97th percentile for head, 84th for height, and the 42nd for weight. She is our tall skinny girl.

I hope to get some pictures posted this afternoon and promise to be a better blogger in the weeks to come.
